Basic Product Properties
Araldite® 2028-1 is a two-component transparent polyurethane structural adhesive, designed for high-strength bonding of metal and plastic substrates. It features fast curing, UV stability, and high transparency, making it ideal for applications requiring aesthetics and durability.
Product Description
Araldite® 2028-1 consists of a transparent resin (Component A) and a transparent hardener (Component B), curing at room temperature with a flashpoint above 100°C. The mix ratio is 1:1 (by weight or volume), with a pot life of 6-8 minutes in a static mixer and about 6 minutes for 100g at 25°C. The cured adhesive maintains stable performance under various conditions, including high temperature, humidity, and chemical exposure.
Special Properties
- High Transparency: Cured adhesive remains transparent, suitable for optical or appearance-sensitive applications.
- Fast Curing: Achieves 1MPa lap shear strength in 15 minutes at 23°C and 10MPa in 1 hour at 40°C.
- Multi-Substrate Compatibility: Bonds metals (e.g., aluminum), plastics (e.g., ABS, PC), glass, and wood.
- Environmental Resistance: Resistant to humidity, heat aging (retains 12.8MPa after -30°C to 70°C thermal cycling).
