MOLYKOTE FS-XM-1669U Heavy Duty Chemical Resistant High Temp Fluorosilicone Grease for Pump Valve Bearings in Chemical & Petrochemical Plants

MOLYKOTE FS-XM-1669U is a white, NLGI Grade 2 fully synthetic fluorosilicone grease manufactured by Molykote (Dow). It is thickened with chemically inert PTFE and based on fluorosilicone fluid, designed for heavy-load, aggressive chemical environment and high-temperature lubrication applications.

This grease features extremely low volatility and excellent oxidation resistance, remaining stable without melting or bleeding over a service temperature range of -40°C to +230°C (up to +260°C short term). It is chemically inert to acids, chlorides, and many solvents, and compatible with most plastics, elastomers and metals. It is applied by brush, grease gun or centralized lubrication systems and should not be mixed with other grease types.

Unlike conventional lithium or polyurea greases, FS-XM-1669U's fluorosilicone fluid structure provides superior resistance to fuels, solvents and aggressive chemicals (4-ball weld load 3200 N, wear scar 2.3 mm @ 800 N). Its high density (~1.5 g/cm³) and high dropping point prevent softening/bleeding on hot bearing surfaces. Passes SKF-EmCor corrosion test (rating 2), suitable for humid/splash environments. NLGI 2 penetration (265–295 mm/10) ensures good water-washout resistance and adherence.

Typical applications include — lubrication of seals/O-rings, rolling and plain bearings in pumps, valves and loading arm joints in chemical & petrochemical plants; friction points exposed to acids, alkalis, solvents, fuels or halogenated hydrocarbons; peripheral chemically-exposed lube points on food processing equipment (non-food-contact zone); and industrial motor or kiln fan bearings requiring water-washout resistance and wide temperature stability.
