Plexus MA530: High-Performance Structural Methacrylate Adhesive for Large Composite and Metal Assemblies

Plexus MA530 is a two-part methacrylate structural adhesive designed for bonding thermoplastics, metals, and composites. It is mixed at a 1:1 volume ratio, appears gray when mixed, offers a working time of 30-40 minutes at room temperature, and cures to form a high-strength, tough bond.

This product is designed for use on large structures where a moderate open time is needed. It offers excellent gap tolerance, fatigue endurance, outstanding impact resistance, and superior toughness, making it ideal for bonding small to large composite and metal assemblies. Plexus MA530 is available in ready-to-use 400-ml cartridges, 5-gallon pails, or 50-gallon drums, and is dispensed as a non-sagging gel.

Beyond its excellent mechanical properties, Plexus MA530 emits very low volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during cure (<0.5%) and provides good resistance to hydrocarbons, acids, bases, and salt solutions. Its cure rate is significantly affected by temperature, and it should be applied within the recommended temperature range for optimal performance.

Plexus MA530 is widely used in fields such as transportation, construction, wind energy, shipbuilding, and industrial equipment. Specific application scenarios include: bonding body panels and frames of buses and rail vehicles, assembling truck cabins, installing exterior wall panels (such as aluminum composite panels), bonding components of wind turbine blades, and adhering decks and superstructures of yachts and ships. Its excellent toughness and fatigue resistance make it particularly suitable for structures subjected to dynamic loads and vibrations.
