Electrolube DCA Modified Alkyd Conformal Coating — Military-Spec PCB Protection for Extreme Environments

Electrolube DCA SCC3 Modified Alkyd Conformal Coating, engineered to protect printed circuit boards (PCBs) and delicate electronic assemblies in demanding service environments.

Based on a unique modified alkyd resin, DCA forms a flexible, transparent protective film (typical thickness 25–75 μm) that shields solder joints and conductors from moisture, dust, fungal growth, and corrosive chemicals. The coating meets the British Ministry of Defence standard DEF-STAN 59/47 Issue 4, is UL 746E Recognized (File E138403), and complies with IPC-CC-830, making it suitable for aerospace, defence, automotive, and industrial electronics applications.

• Extreme Temperature Range: Operates reliably from -70°C to +200°C​ with proven thermal cycling performance per IPC-CC-830.
• Excellent Solvent & Chemical Resistance: Heat-cured film resists aggressive solvents common in aerospace and automotive industries.
• Versatile Curing Options: Ambient cure available; optimal properties achieved by heat cure — 2 hrs @ 90°C (commercial) or up to 24 hrs @ 120°C (military / max solvent resistance) after a minimum 2 hr ambient flash-off.
• UV Trace for Inspection: Contains a UV-fluorescent marker (inspect under 365–375 nm UV light) to verify uniform coverage.
• Reworkable: Can be removed selectively using Electrolube Conformal Coating Remover Gel (CCRG01L).
• Application Flexibility: Suitable for spray (with DCT thinners), dip coating, or brush application. Available in 200 ml Aerosol, 1 L and 5 L Bulk packs.

DCA is supported by a full system of compatible thinners (DCT Series) and removal gels (CCRG), and is best applied to thoroughly cleaned boards using Electrolube aqueous or solvent-based PCB cleaners to remove flux residues and maximise adhesion.
