آخرین اخبار شرکت در مورد DOWSIL™ 736 Heat Resistant Sealant: A One-Part, Non-Slumping Silicone Solution for High-Temperature Industrial Service
In high-temperature manufacturing, food-equipment service, HVAC and exhaust systems, and auxiliary aerospace sealing, a sealant often has to resist sustained heat while staying in place on vertical or overhead surfaces. DOWSIL™ 736 Heat Resistant Sealant is a one-part, moisture-cure silicone developed for exactly these conditions.
DOWSIL™ 736 is a red, non-slumping paste that can be applied to side walls or overhead without sagging or running. It is rated for continuous service from -65 °C to 260 °C and intermittent exposure up to 315 °C. Typical uses include industrial ovens, moving oven belts, bag filters on smokestacks, encapsulation and sealing of heating elements in appliances, and gasketing support in aerospace-related applications.
Under standard conditions—25 °C and 50% relative humidity—the sealant skins over in about 10 minutes, becomes tack-free in about 17 minutes, and reaches a rubbery cure at 3 mm thickness in roughly 24 hours. As cured, it shows approximately Shore A 26 hardness, 350 psi tensile strength, and 600% elongation, balancing flexibility with resistance to thermal cycling.
DOWSIL™ 736 has established compliance credentials: it complies with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 for incidental food contact (subject to end-use extractives limits), is listed under NSF/ANSI 51 for food-equipment materials, is designed to meet MIL-A-46106, and carries UL recognition for relevant uses. This makes it a viable candidate in selected food-Equipment and general industrial high-temperature joints.
Dow also documents clear limitations. DOWSIL™ 736 is an acetoxy-cure RTV that releases a mild acetic-acid odor during curing. It is not recommended for fully confined spaces where atmospheric moisture cannot reach the material, nor for sensitive metals such as copper, brass, zinc, carbon steel, galvanized iron or magnesium. Concrete, masonry, PTFE, polyethylene and polypropylene are also poor-fit substrates. Proper surface preparation, optional use of compatible primers, and cure validation in confined designs remain essential for specifiers.
Among engineers, it is typically positioned as a mature, easy-to-apply red RTV silicone for high-temperature service where sensitive metals are not involved. For maintenance, prototyping and standardized industrial assembly, that predictability is itself a practical advantage.
