Dowsil™ Q3-6575 Dielectric Gel is a two-part, very soft, clear silicone gel with a 1:1 mix ratio. It is designed for use in extreme temperature environments and features a fast heat cure capability. Its key characteristics include maintaining flexibility at very low temperatures and providing excellent electrical insulation.
This dielectric gel cures to form an extremely soft, self-healing, and resilient material that provides cushioning and stress relief for delicate components. It exhibits exceptional stability of properties at temperatures ranging from -80°C to 200°C (-112°F to 392°F), making it suitable for protecting PCB system assemblies in harsh operating conditions. The gel effectively manages CTE mismatch between components during low temperature excursions.

Dowsil Q3-6575 offers outstanding dielectric properties with a dielectric strength of 450 volts/mil (18 kV/mm) and volume resistivity of 1.2*10¹⁴ ohm*cm. It maintains consistent dielectric constant (2.82-2.83) across frequencies from 100 Hz to 100 kHz. The gel has very low dissipation factors (0.002 at 100 Hz and <0.0001 at 100 kHz), indicating minimal electrical energy loss. Its unique self-healing capability allows it to reseal after penetration, maintaining continuous protection.
Dowsil Q3-6575 is primarily used for encapsulating and protecting electronic assemblies that operate in extreme temperature environments, particularly in automotive, aerospace, and industrial applications where components are exposed to temperatures as low as -80°C. It provides electrical insulation for high voltages, stress relief to protect circuits from thermal and mechanical stresses, and isolation from moisture and contaminants. The gel is also suitable for optoelectronics applications due to its stress-relieving capability.
