LOCTITER 222 Low Strength Threadlocker for Locking and Sealing Small Threaded Fasteners

LOCTITER 222 is a one-part, purple, low-strength, thixotropic, anaerobic acrylic threadlocking adhesive designed for small-diameter fasteners requiring frequent disassembly. It cures between close-fitting metal surfaces in the absence of air.

The product is used to lock and seal threaded fasteners against loosening and leakage from shock and vibration. It is particularly suitable for set screws, small diameter or long engagement length fasteners, and can be disassembled with standard hand tools without shearing the screw.

LOCTITER 222 is thixotropic to reduce migration after application, fluoresces under UV light for inspection, has a typical viscosity (20 rpm) of 900–1,500 mPa·s and specific gravity 1.05 g/cm³, shows good resistance to motor oil, petrol, brake fluid, water/glycol, and can be accelerated with activators.
