Kafuter K-586 (Black RTV Silicone Gasket Maker) is a single-component, room-temperature vulcanizing (RTV), neutral oxime-type black silicone sealant with thixotropic paste consistency. It cures from a black paste upon exposure to moisture into an elastic silicone rubber gasket.

K-586 is applied directly onto flange mating surfaces to form an instant gasket, replacing conventional rubber, asbestos, cork or paper gaskets regardless of surface size or shape. It features low shrinkage and non-slump properties. Once cured, it forms an oil-resistant, water-resistant, vibration-damping elastic seal that is easily peelable for subsequent disassembly and maintenance, ideal for static flange sealing.

This product exhibits excellent thixotropy—it will not slump or sag on vertical surfaces and can seal gaps up to 6mm. The neutral cure formula is non-corrosive to metals (steel, aluminum, cast iron), plastics and ceramics. The cured bead withstands pressure up to 12MPa and operates from -60℃ to +200℃, with good resistance to engine oil, gear oil and common solvents. Its high elasticity (elongation 200%~300%) allows the cured gasket to be peeled off cleanly during rework without leaving debris.

Suitable for sealing flange joints on automotive, motorcycle, agricultural and construction machinery—including engine oil pans, valve/timing covers, water pump housings, intake/exhaust manifolds, transmission/gearbox end covers, axle flanges and differential housings. Also applicable to static sealing of industrial pumps, valves, compressor covers, electric motor housings and chemical equipment flanges.
